My Role: I led a full end-to-end UX redesign of the Budget Motors Caerphilly website as part of my final year project. This involved UX research, competitor benchmarking, customer journey mapping, usability testing, and redesigning the site in both Figma and Webflow.
The Challenge: The original dealership website lacked user trust, transparency, and usability—making it difficult for users to complete tasks or feel confident in their purchase decisions. My challenge was to identify and address these friction points, and reshape the online car buying journey to feel seamless, trustworthy, and user-led.
How did my thinking evolve? My approach evolved from exploring basic usability problems to uncovering deeper psychological factors that were influencing the way users behave, like trust and credibility. Early user tests highlighted missing features like vehicle comparisons, review visibility, and test drive booking options. Through iterative design and further testing, I refined the site by applying UX laws like Hick’s and Fitts’ Law, implementing personalized filters, immersive content, live chat, and transparent pricing. The final Webflow prototype reflects a more intuitive, trustworthy, and conversion-friendly experience grounded in user-centered design.
